Things could not have fallen any more easily into his lap. Not only had Peter given him a more thorough tour than he could have asked for--as they nearly visited every single public room--but he had a map as well. He had shared it with Gabe many times, to ask for help in directing their path. Seeing the castle's layout on paper helped him tremendously to plan how things would go for the stake out, just as seeing them personally had made him more confident in his ability to carry out the fast approaching evening ( ... )

Raw as meditating from his hiding place in the garden, preparing himself for what they had all planned. Deception left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he hated it, but it was necessary. So despite how he felt about lying to another, he would do what he was needed to do. To protect the others.

Feeling the unique fuzzy curling emotions of Peter approaching, made the Viewer's senses pick up and stretch out. He could only feel the Cub approaching, that was...odd. He doubted that the halfling would have forgotten about the plan they had come up with, and the possibilities of other outcomes made the Animal's hackles rise.

Even as the Cub appeared in visual distance, Raw could not get even the slightest read on his companion. He could see, hear and smell the man. But he could not sense him.

Cain would not be pleased.

"It certainly is," Peter agreed. He tried to locate Raw, closing his eyes and breathing deeply, seemingly of the heavenly fauna around them. There was a vague sense of him nearby. Peter opened his eyes. "Some of the plant species here are so," he couldn't quite think of a proper word, and shrugged. "Well, 'exotic' would be too much of an understatement. As would 'beautiful'. There's even some that blossom only at night."

He wondered if Raw had his scanning done, or more disturbingly, if Gabriel was blank to him. For Peter, not sensing someone immediately was understandable-he was so very new, after all, and a halfling-but for Raw? In a comic book fashion, he wondered if the two Viewers' abilities combined might accomplish what one failed. But he hadn't the faintest idea if it were even possible.

Peter seemed to appreciate the gardens as much, if not more, than the tiles he was so often drawn to. Such observations were a definite change of pace for Gabriel, whom hardly ever took note of the small details unless they somehow influenced his sucess. But here, the gardens were of little use to him except serving to give the tour a stopping point and prove Peter was a dreamer to the core. It was a welcome difference though, he rarely gave himself the chance to enjoy the world around him ( ... )

Oh, but he wasn't missing the point. No, Gabriel knew Peter intended to actually do something with the grass; he was just being a smartass. Pete had to allow him that luxury a little, he so rarely got to be himself within these walls, it was frustrating ( ... )

Wincing at the piercing sound of Peter and his blade of grass, Raw began to back out of their hiding place. They could go through the way Bahst had come to get back to the palace. And inform Cain of what they had found out. That conversation was not exactly one the Viewer was looking forward to.

The fact that the stranger had extremely strong shields was worrying. After all, why would an everyday citizen need shields, besides the barest of them to protect their emotions from displaying on their face.

Add to that the fact that the stranger was interested in Peter...and it did not make for a restful group of thoughts.

The sound made her cringe and blink furiously as she glared at the cub who was making such a horrible noise with the grass. Following her mate she allowed him to lead her in the direction of the castle, knowing exactly why he had been out here in the first place and who he was going to go inform of this.

Peter moved a little closer to Gabriel, concerned with his reaction. He could feel similar pain emnating from Raw and Bahst. Whistling with grass = not a good idea. Certainly one he wouldn't be doing again.

"Oh believe me, I don't think I'll be doing that again." He said with a small smile. To emphasize this point, he took Gabriel's advice and whistled the normal way. As best he could he imitated a bird call. It was at least more melodic than the grass.

He waited until he could no longer detect his mentors, which itself wasn't telling of their location given their shields, before asking the one question burning on his mind. Or started to ask, anyway. "So uhm… in a few days there's this ball coming up…" He bit on his lower lip, a habit he told himself he needed to stop, and occasionally met Gabriel's eyes. "…and, well, I'm usually not one for those social events… just not my thing, y'know? … but I'm thinking I might possibly kindof want to go… that is if you are… but, you know, don't feel as if you have to… because I wouldn't want ( ... )
