Ripley watched as the blond woman ran. It was strange, she'd looked at the zombie almost as if she didn't understand what it was. How anyone could live a year out here and not understand the infected, Ripley didn't know.

She waited, watched as the two came closer. Ripley saw that the woman was easily outdistancing the infected, but out here, in the open, that would only keep you alive for so long. Once they neared the tree, Ripley dropped-

-and her hunting knife severed the zombie' spinal cord. It went down in that strange, slow-fall Ripley knew so well.
"Hey!" she called to the blond's still-retreating back.

She spun around, Gaius following suit seconds later. The creature laid in pieces on the ground, a very human woman standing with a knife raised.

So this was it. This was where she would finally die. The ship must be out of range... they wouldn't abandon her only to save her again. Unless... No. She had to stay alive until she could get off this planet.

"I'm not.." Before she could think of anything reasonable to say, Gaius jumped down her throat.

"Human?" he snarked, sitting nonchalantly on the ground now.

"Thank you," she bargained for instead, glaring as discreetly as possible over her shoulder as she made her way, albeit warily, towards the woman.

Ripley lowered the knife when she was sure the infected was dead. She had felt the bones snap through the hilt, but she still waited every time.

"You're welcome. Ellen Ripley." She checked over her shoulder before she refocused her attention on the woman. "How did you find us?"

She slipped her knife into a sheath by her hip, but left her hand there. You can never be too careful.

Caprica 6 ran a hand through her hair, still noting its up-state with no small measure of befuddlement.

"I'm.. Caprica." She slunk in a bit closer, wondering if this Ellen could tell she was not of the human persuasion. She was willing to bet as long as she wasn't on those.. things' side then she was probably alright by this world's standards.

"Six," Gaius completed for her, and this time she didn't care, glaring outright in his imaginary direction.

"Six," she parroted, seeing the confusion on the woman's face already. "Caprica Six."

Is this when she died, perhaps? She was caring less and less as her heart pounded harder and faster.

Ripley's eyes narrowed. Six?? She shook her head. This was not the place to ask questions. "Follow me." She pulled her radio from her belt and pressed down. "Base, I'm clear, I should be back in eleven minutes with a new girl. Doesn't look infected."
