Alrighty, you lot.  Comment here, and I shall tell you exactly what Sam really thinks of your character.   Granted, he's a bit new and doesn't know all that many people yet, but... whatever!  Just for a lark, you know.

Hmm. For some reason, he really does think of her as a bit of a kid- a teenager who thinks she knows everything there is to know. Not necessarily in a bad way, just that that's how she is. And he kind of understands, because he was exactly the same way as a teenager. Just because he met her before he even thought this place was real, and so most of their first conversation is left in the shock of finding the computer, etc.

He hasn't really talked to her other than that once, but that was the impression he walked away with.

Oh, Gene. How does Sam feel about Gene, blimey? His feelings in that arena are, shall we say, complicated. He respects Gene immensely, but he very often wants to slaughter him and string him up by his own guts. He trusts him with his life, though not with his sanity, which he's left in the tender hands of WDC Cartwright. He thinks he's a boor and a Neanderthal, his outlook dated and backwards, but it's often a fight between frustration and amusement when faced with these particular qualities. He tells himself that he would never police the way Gene does, but he recognises that he is a damned good copper in his own right.

In many ways, Gene is Sam's only equal in 1973. Or at least, the only person he really sees as able to match him punch for punch and just not take any shit from him. He enjoys sparring with him, both physically and verbally, and he absolutely loves proving him wrong ( ... )

Ah, the Master.

The Master, I would say, disturbs Sam. He honestly doesn't know what to think of him, and that just screws things up for him. Because first of all, this bloke shows up wearing his face, which is enough to throw anyone off. He then proceeds to be irritatingly cryptic, utterly indecipherable, until announcing to Sam that he is a psychopathic supervillain. A psychopathic supervillain, furthermore, who has changedNow, Sam, still thrown off by the mere fact of the man's existence, would truly like to believe that he's changed, but is finding it difficult, on account of having grown up with Roger Delgado rocking the goatee of evil and intoning 'I am the Master and you will obey me!' River is playing a large part in Sam's uncertainty, because he likes her a lot, and since she seemed to see right through him at the start, it would make sense that she'd be able to do the same thing with the Master. But then, of course, he knows about the Master's hypnotic abilities, etc etc ( ... )

Sam thinks River's a nut, but he really likes her nonetheless. A great deal of this is because, upon their first meeting, she immediately said- no, you're not insane. She never doubted it for a minute. And Sam, well- Sam doubts his own sanity a dozen times a day, and that's nothing to everybody else he interacts with, so that was a massive plus point for dear River. Also, concerning the insanity thing, there's a bit of solidarity going on there, just because, you know, half the time he thinks he's a loony himself ( ... )

Dude, it's the DoctorSam is, to put it in a word, a fanboy. He's been watching Doctor Who since the Third Doctor era, grew up on it. He had a teenage boy!crush on the Fifth Doctor, because Peter Davison is pretty. As he said to the Doctor, it's pretty much the dream of every British kid of his generation to meet the Doctor, and he is no exception to that ( ... )
