I am so suspicious of these surveys, especially when this particular report came out 2 months ago and both the Guardian and the Press Association don't link to the report. The data per local authority looks OK and the study is very large, but it's quite hard to find... aha! Here it is. . I'm very wary of these regional comparisons, and I can't find an overall report which has all the data in one place.

The Fleet's been an underground sewer for a very, very long time. The odds of it resurfacing are slim. Still, I always do like it when there's interest in London's invisible rivers (writes an erstwhile plague-carrying Fleet sewer rat).
