Still not feeling quite in harmony with myself and the universe at large.

Am going through an annoying phase of klutziness in which I bang into things, hit myself with things, drop things, spill things, and have the kind of minor domestic accidents that one couldn't replicate if one tried.

Hope you feel more at ease with yourself and the world soon.

I wonder if you could somehow work the fact you're going to be out of the UK into a non-nagging reminder to the editor... menitioning that you may be hard to get in touch with between certain dates.

It is difficult when you have no idea what people might be interested in. I have had my attitude readjusted a bit recently due to going to talk to business people about intellectual property expecting them to be clued-up and ask me Hard Questions, and then finding that while they spontaneously find out loads of stuff about business for themselves, when it comes to patents and trade marks they turn into intimidated little kids who want someone to sit down with them and explain very simple things in very simple words. It's sweet, really.

About a dozen people who have put down 'C20th British and European History' - + one rather specific medieval/early modern topic - + 1 something like 'cultural history'. All one can really do is show them that this is what archives look like and that they can be really, really diverse.
