This year I published (written some time ago, but delayed) a 40,000 word monograph in my area of specialism and it took a hell of a lot longer than a month, so am in appalled admiration of you.
Also, met Lionel Shriver in April and thought she was decidedly odd. Besides telling me more than once that one of the less likeable minor characters in We Need to Talk About Kevin bears my name, she wore, indoors, in a hot bar, a pair of white cotton gloves. I couldn't figure out if she had some form of skin disease, or was channelling her inner Michael Jackson. I bear with her self-righteous and self-aggrandising Guardian column for the sake of the next novel, which I hope may be combine the good elements of WNtTAK with a less corrosively unpleasant theme.
