Right hand, meet left hand

Email from Amazon.co.uk (some auto thing I guess) inciting me to go comment on my recent purchases.

Including the recent biography of pioneer gay rights activist, Edward Carpenter*.

Not enough Duh in the world.

*ETA: which is, and I boggle some more, ranked.

incongruity, homosexuality, inconsistency, boggling, amazon

I think I saw somewhere that the rankings had been (?were in the process of being?) reinstated, which might explain the last source of bogglement. But still.

Mine aren't, for the affected books, nor is Matt Houlbrook's for Queer London, which won a major award for historical writing in 2007.

I think removal from ranking is based on category and it isn't classified as having anything to do with gay rights, only:

Biography > Historical > Britain > Military
Biography > Historical > Britain > Social & Urban History
Biography > Historical > Social & Urban History
Biography > Novelists, Poets & Playwrights > Poets
Biography > Political > Britain > Labour & Socialism
History > Political History > Democracy
Lonely Planet Store
Society, Politics & Philosophy > Government & Politics > Political Science & Ideology > Socialism

If so, that makes it bad in a different-but-equal way; it's not just the ranking issue per se, it's the difficulty in finding books in those categories.

The man was a lifelong pacifist!
(Was there another E Carpenter who was a general or something?)

To extend the metaphor of your heading:

The right hand and the left hand are connected via neurones that go to the brain. Obviously, if the brain is absent, there can be no connection!
