Raylan's given Hasi some space, since the break-in. He doesn't want to hover, and he isn't one to fuss. That said, he has worried about her some, and it's been long enough he feel he's due to check in.
Besides, accidental poker evening aside, he's overdue for a trip to the nexus anyway. So when he steps into Stigmata, he figures even if she's not there, he could do with a drink or two himself.
"I can't say I'd recommend it, no." The things they're not discussing aside, he's not sure how well it would work, and how dangerous it'd be for her in the meantime. He'd rather not find out.
"I'm already involved; if you need me for..." He didn't quite finish the thought.
She looks apprehensive at the thought. "I hate getting you further into all of my--weirdness, I suppose. This is really dangerous, Raylan. If those people work for who I think they do..."
"I kind of gathered the dangerous part, yeah. I can deal with a certain level of danger," he points out. "But it ain't my world, and I know that. Doesn't mean I don't want to see this through."
"About the book? Or you mean something else?" It was a fairly clear memory, and he imagines it'll stay that way, but he's not sure exactly what she's referring to.
Then, it had been something tuck away, to think about later. Now, it was something he hadn't quite worked through, but surprised... no. He'd gotten past that, at least.
"In general, I suppose." She goes on to explain, now, her tone very steady, with the quiet, intent lack of pretense that she's so good at occasionally employing. Her sincerity is more dangerous than her artifice, but her desire to be seen as harmless means she's more inclined toward the latter.
"It didn't happen naturally, the split in his personality...the drugs he used, he bought under the table from a company called Telesis, from one of their representatives. They were tainted, and they're what drove him to do what he did, what possessed him...Telesis's base of operations is in London."
"So it was partly about revenge, then?" That didn't excuse it, and both of them know he's not saying that, but it's something he can understand. It grounds what happened to her in a world he can comprehend.
"What he did? A little, but not toward them. Revenge toward society in general...the first person he killed, he did it for me. My procurer hit me. Henry was livid, but only as Hyde could he..." She waves a hand, shrugging languidly. "...act on those feelings. Eventually it just turned into blind, indulgent sadism. But Telesis still wanted a piece of him, and they still want his research. They have similar interests to me, but their aims are less positive."
They've been tracking Hasi for a while now, as far as she knows. She looks steadily at Raylan.
"I think those men might have been Telesis hires. Nothing on the books, of course, but...it's a possibility."
"I do know." She might have a taste for danger, but that doesn't mean she wants these people to get their hands on her. "Acting is sort of one way of doing that...as calculating as it makes me sound. More exposure. It's harder to get to me, harder to do things to me without people seeing."
He nods. "Not a bad thought. Though it depends how much money Telesis has. You get a few crocked cops, a bad lawyer or two... well. It's shameful, how much can get swept under the rug." He just wanted her to take care, that was all.

Hasibe still seems torn, thumbing the edge of her glass and averting her eyes.
"Do you remember what I said when he was bleeding out? About the last death I'd seen."

"About my husband."
She doesn't dare look at him.

She exhales a sound that is sort of the unhappy cousin to a laugh. Hasi presses her cheek to her hand, mirthless.
"And you don't even seem surprised."
