If Raimi's directing, then I'm 98% happy with this (Wishing, of course, that PJ would direct instead.)

But if he's involved, that's what's critical.

And somehow? I suspect that suit from Saul Zaentz is what tipped the balance. Heh.

Yup, I can live with Sam directing, though of course PJ is still my dream director.

Heh, Zaentz's suit certainly won't have hurt. ;)

"Huh," she said. "Huh."

Very interesting. God, I would have loved to have heard the final conversations about all this.

Good news. Finally.

Funny how this came about after The Golden Compass didn't give New Line the numbers they expected.

I don't care the reason, I'm just thrilled to see it's going forward. Now, what do they mean by two movies? Are they splitting the Hobbit up? This should be very interesting

Certainly not back home. :)

Ah - they've been talking about that. The first film would be The Hobbit, and the second would be filling the gap between it and LotR. I guess we might see things like Aragorn and his rangers protecting the Shire etc.!

Some info is in a presentation that TORn put together a while ago, with (well-grounded) speculation about The Hobbit: http://www.theonering.net/thehobbit07.html
