So I knew I had seen Christina Cox before, who plays Vicki in Blood Ties, but I just couldn't place her. Which in hindsight is no wonder, because she his blonde here but the one time I had seen her before, she was brunette - in Chronicles of Riddick! I just packed Blood Price to read on the plane on saturday. I'm thinking I might need to pack book 2 also.

I enjoyed what little I was able to watch of Blood Ties, so I'm definitely setting the VCR to record it while we're gone. See what you've done to me.

I had the same feeling - like I'd seen her before! And now it all falls into place. Do we ever find out what happens to her in CoR?

No - there's a little bit more in the Director's Cut version, but it's still left open whether she's dying or might heal, given treatment. Which of course is questionable since she is a bounty hunter and therefore I doubt the convicts/inmates are likely to help her. Too bad, I liked her character!
