Oooh I need to go on holiday to Thailand sometime: there was just a documentary on TV about a village called Kok Sa-nga in Thailand, also known as King Kobra Village because many people there have King Kobras as pets, and some also do show fights or dances with them. And yes, they are still poisonous. The documentary was very fascinating

I've read that book and I loved it. I keep meaning to go to one of the events some time. The Haxey Hood appeals to me as my Mum is from Lincolnshire, and the Lewis bonfire is failrly close to where I live. Perhaps one day.
