Hello, I am 17, I live in Singapore and I will show you my room and my sister's room. Our rooms happen to match, thus the reason to post them together, haha.
Oh god, your hamster (hamster? It's a hamster, right?) is the most adorable thing. And I noticed the volumes of Ouran Host Club scattered between the two rooms... XD
Yeah, she is my hamster and she is really chubby and all. She bites when she thinks there is too little in her food dish. Haha. I used to be obsessed with Ouran Host Club and japanese manga, had a weekly routine where I go to a comic shop to purchase manga, but my fascination with Japan and her manga art died down. I guessed my sister's fascination still runs deep. :P
Thank you and yeahhhh, when I was reading Time Traveller's wife, I was so frustrated with the earlier chapters. I think the female lead was talking about the guy's library collection or something and her writing style was so descriptive till it hurts (in a bad way).
I like when an author does literacy references. But hers was overload of literacy references and the way she inserted them, it felt so abrupt, impromptu and not subtle and witty at all. It gave me the impression that she was boasting about her literacy knowledge and it just turned me off @_@. I tried though, because my classmates were telling me how it was so sad and heartbreaking and everything... but my frustration got the better of me. :P
IN DEFENCE OF THIS BOOK, I felt exactly the same when I first read it! I couldn't get past the first few chapters as I found it dull and didn't really understand what was going on. But for whatever reason I tried again with it a few months later, and I loved it! I couldn't put it down! I don't know what it is about the first few chapters... but when you get past them it's really a very good book, in my opinion. :)
