Looking for storage solutions

I'm moving into a new dorm next month, and I'm looking for ideas for possible storage solutions.  In the past, I've had always had rooms with a closet, dresser and bookcase so its never been an issue before.  This  new building  is apartment-style and I do have my own room  but it comes with just a bed, desk, desk chair and wardrobe.  My closet at ( Read more... )

Under the bed storage, if you don't mind some things not being on display, or storing things you don't wear as often but you'd like to have around anyway (something like this though I'm sure there's plenty of other options).

For books, I don't really have any ideas besides, well, more shelving. :<

Bed, Bath and Beyond has a lot of cute storage options.

One of my friends had this shelf structure to put over her bed. It's not a whole lot of room, only like two shelves, but in most dorms your only choice is to build up.

I know many colleges you can have lofted beds, I would look into this as an option for more storage. The college that I attended you just had to request a lofted bed and the university would loft it for you, and in my brother's case you bought a loft kit from the school and it was a simple process.

I shared a room with another person for three years, every year with my bed lofted, and then when I had a room of my own it was not lofted all the way, but enough to store my dresser under my bed. It's a good option.

And also, you'll be surprised of HOW MUCH STUFF you can fit in a tiny dorm room. :)
