This is great, very well written. It's nice to see Uther's softer side.
I wonder what Arthur would say if he found out. :)

One little thing, though, I think there's a comment in there (maybe your beta reader's?) that you probably overlooked... in the paragraph that starts "It hadn't been their first time together".

Thank you for the awesome comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. I have no idea what Arthur would say, but there would probably be a lot of "WTF?" going on in his head. :)

You must have opened the fic within the first five minutes after I'd posted because I caught the comment quickly and fixed it! But I'm glad you told me. If I hadn't already noticed, I would be more than thankful to you for pointing it out!

This was so beautiful. You've captured Uther's voice and his essence so well - it would be so like him to look at himself and his actions truthfully. I especially liked Besides, fathering bastards was not a good thing for a king to do; wars had broken out over less. And Uther wasn't about to leave Arthur to deal with the fallout of his father's excesses. Your words capture one of the things I love most about Uther: how much he loves his son. Thanks for sharing this.
