on a serious note

three more incidents in London.

They appear to have been flashbangs, and no casualties reported. But by my count, that brings the total number of Tube Lines affected to seven. As investigations will doubtless carry on, the transport network's just been gutted.

At the moment (fingers crossed) there are still some tube lines running and all the normal rail services and buses are still operating - far from gutted.

Hopefully there will be enough trains for me to get home, otherwise I will be seeing how comfortable the carpet tiles are here at work :)

Where are you at?

Today's action seems to have been at the Zone1/Zone2 boundary--It's been a while since I've had to think about it--so I guess things shouldn't be too bad.

But I remember how awful things were when it was just the Central Line shut down.

Bank - slap bang in the middle of the city, so a little way from the "incidents". Unfortunately, home is in Ealing - on the other side of the incidents.

The problem I've got is that the Piccadilly line drivers are currently refusing to drive their trains - other than that most of the network (apart from the bits damaged last time) is back up. The bombs today seem to have been ineffective in anything but mental damage.

(http://map.tfl.gov.uk/realtime.asp - lines coloured in are currently having issues of come kind)

I remember the big terror drill on Bank station--a Sunday afternoon in July of 2003, with fire brigades and City coppers everywhere. Decontamination showers and hazmat-suited people...it was surreal to cycle past it.

your map shows big chunks of zones 1 and 2 as 'disrupted...'

So, how comfy are your carpet tiles ?
