I always loved the music of these game series, but I never knew anything about the story (maybe I should get my hands on it 8D)

And hey, I had no idea you knew something about the series! If you're intrigued now, you should definitely check it out. I've been a flailing addict ever since I was first exposed to it.

Nightrunners. :D

Thanks for the tip. Will keep it in mind. :D

If I should pick a part that could apply as a favourite one, I would choose the beginning as well. I can appreciate it even though I don't know the fandom at all.
NS are love. ;)

Glad that part seems so universal. :D

Ellen Kushner’s Swordspoint and sequels!
And yes, you should add the Nightrunner books to your reading list. :) Although it’s a bit of a bummer that the author, otterdance has that unwarranted anti-fanfiction attitude and the fandom respects that (or like myself, doesn’t exactly respect it, but thinks it's creepy if the disapproving author is watching…).
Oh, and I think, although in this case "slashy" is not quite the right word, you should read Storm Constantines Wraeththu. (The summary on Amazon gets it completely wrong, therefore: link to our friend Wikipedia. They are, imo, among the most amazing books ever written and I’ve never come across the like again.

Geez, I thought most authors would have grown out of that little untouchability syndrome by now, but apparently that's never quite the case. Still, I'm curious enough to give it a go.
As for that last rec... why do I not know this exists? Might actually give this one priority, because do want.

Those books are not as famous as they deserve to be. *nods* But admittedly, they come from rather high on the special-interest shelf. ;)
I hope you don't have trouble getting your hands on a decent copy. I think the 2007 editions can only be ordered directly from Immanion Press. There used to be a cheap one-volume edition of the first trilogy in its 1980s version available on Amazon, which I'd recommend for a start.
But make sure to get a family box of paper tissues first!

Yeah, I think I'll just check Amazon since it seems like a decent place to start (and I can ignore their description, heh). I'm not picky when it comes to format!
Will remember that.
