Tell me about the atmosphere, tell me about the faces that greeted you there

It's the party of the century and you're invited. You don't know who sent you the invitation, but however you got it -- vial mailman, carrier pigeon, or message-in-a-bottle -- the minute you opened it, you were transported to the sumptuous Palace of Versailles in France. You might shake your head and blink, maybe catch your breath, before you stroll past the line of carriages discharging their noble passengers, up the steps and through the doors where footmen bow you in. Unimaginable luxury awaits you. The servants would be pleased to escort you to the Hall of Mirrors, where the nobility dance in brilliant clothing to the orchestra's masterful playing, or perhaps you'd prefer a stroll through the gardens, a rendevouz along the moonlit pond, or to take in the garish beauty of the interior in solitude. Oh, and don't worry about looking out of place--in fact, you may find yourself dressed the part...though whether you'd want to be is a different story!
You may not know how you've gotten here, but here you are--you should take advantage of it and meet some of the other guests.
