1. Schooled by Gordon Korman - A commune-raised teenager gets thrust out into society when his grandmother is hospitalized and he's placed in a foster home. Totally unprepared for the outside world, Cap is elected 8th grade class

I loved "The Last Thing I Remember" by Andrew Klavan. Totally surprised me - Nona read & loved it too.

I've been a fan of his adult stuff and was happy to see a YA book. Seems lots of adult authors are dipping their toes into YA - and getting it right :)
