TV: Criminal Minds, New Season!

(New icon found online. I think it's one made by Elizabeth Bear. Too funny!)

So, a Leonard Cohen soundtrack, a quote from the Buddha (a favorite quote at that), and Tim Curry. What's not to like? Well, there wasn't enough Reid, not nearly enough, but otherwise, excellent start.

Made that episode my breakfast TV today. And - yeah, totally opposite opinion:-) - Morgan was the dark chocolate muffin to make it perfect though he looked pretty worn out. Agree with you on there not being enough Reid...and not enough Garcia, for that matter. Love that woman.

Sooooo only the women get cut? Although those were not the strongest characters in teh pack, either. If they cut Reid or Garcia I'm done.

Hey, I have to protest that. Emily and JJ are both very strong characters. They're not as flashy as Garcia or the show's whipping boy, like Reid, but they have developed personalities, lives, and strengths.

And yeah, I'm totally furious about them being fired.

I should rephrase that. They didn't get a lot of screen time, at least not lately. Why do they need to conserve costs, I wonder?

I think it might be possible that it's just too large a cast to give everyone ample development time. Ensembles are tough. Not that I agree with cutting the girls. I like it when they spot light a certain character per episode and spread it around.

TIM CURRY. He has my everlasting love for pulling off one of the weirdest sexy scenes ever. Can't wait to see him in Criminal Minds in my country ;)

Shows you what *I* know. I thought Tim Curry was dead...

So it's not a Reid episode. Ensemble show, right?

I liked getting a Morgan and JJ episode--they're among the characters I feel tend to get shorted in terms of focus.

I feel like Morgan gets lots of attention. Maybe it just seems that way because he annoys me for some reason. I think it's his acting style, which just doesn't ring true sometimes. I don't completely dislike him, just little things.

Poor JJ. They've really built her character up, too, especially in that last episode. I liked the little glimpses we got about her and how hard that job really is. Guess a married mom doesn't bring in the numbers?
