A few days after we got Jackson he brought in an uprooted lady slipper plant I'd planted experimentally in the back flower bed. So much for that experiment. Then he brought in a pine cone and chewed it up all over the rug. Then he brought me an uprooted bulb from one of my canna lilies. Today it's a whole black taro plant from the pond, complete

Probably tricky to plant anything aesthetically pleasing that would grow fast enough to keep up. (My view on the herons that visit my fish pond is that as long as the goldfish breed faster than the herons eat them, I’m content...) Could you train him to bring in one particular object that you praise him for getting, then quietly go out and stick in the ground again?
