My dachshund does the same thing, seems to have been narrowed to the Parvo shot. So whenever its time for that one, its the only shot he gets and the vet keeps him for an hour after and usually has to administer antihistamine and that takes care of it.
His mother did the same thing, so there a chance that Jack's mother probably has a similar reaction.

Our vets says J will have to be given Benadryl 30 min before any shot, then watched. We're currently giving him the stuff every 4 hours for the next 72 hours. It's really helping and you'd never know anything had gone wrong. Then again, he was still playing with the swelling.

Oh that is terrific he is doing so well!! \o/

Scary that he had such a reaction. Do they expect him to each time or just this? EEK!

ack scary. My boy only has reactions to the lyme disease shots so we just don't bother for him to have it. Luckily has has no issues with others. Hope he has better luck next time.
