Whoa! I've been wondering about why Sam would need a ritual to keep Luci from entering him again if they had already preformed the Rite of Contressa.

Great chapter. Keep going, I love this story.

Yep, like Dean said in the desert, they had something to keep him from taking a vessel, but it was overcome.
Thanks!

This story just gets better. Everyone is so *interesting* - faceted and multilayered. Even the bad guys.

Edited to add: I always think of some detail or aspect a few hours later, generally on the third re-read.

Dean has Crowley, a major demon, on speed-dial. Sharing the same list as the archangels. [I feel dirty]

p.p.s.
I just realized: Samuel thinks that John and Mary fell in love. I can hardly imagine how he's going to feel when he discovers that they were both ... forced into date-rape by Cupids. Remember the Valentine episode with Famine? The Cupid said that they had had to *force* John and Mary together. They hadn't liked each other before the Cupid literally carved each other's name on their hearts. I suspect that John's monomaniacal vengeance quest was directly caused by that. He *couldn't* heal with the sigil still branding him.

I wonder what happened to the two of them when they died? John wasn't in Mary's heaven.

As a parent, I'd be furious to discover that someone had done that to my children.

I'm glad you say that as it was something I was really aiming for. I hate two dimensional bad guys. They drive me nuts.
Yep he does. And lol.
There's so much that's happened that I really had to pick and chose stuff for the chapter I just posted, but this point is addressed. I don't look at it quite the way you do, but I do think it had an effect.

Whoa! So Simiel must've come up with this plan because wasn't it her and another angel who were talking about Contressa in the first place? I hope they can figure a way to make Sam and the rest of the Campbells safe from Lucifer even if he gets rid of Contressa. Maybe that will be when you have Sam's true involvement with demons come out or a bigger confrontation between Dean and Sam? Still can't wait for Sampa's reaction to Sam screwing a demon and drinking her blood while Dean was being tortured in Hell.

Awesome tie in with unicorns btw :)

Yep, her and Jophiel.
Well, they can do the thing on Sam, but beyond that it's a consent thing. So it's entirely in their own hands from that point onwards.
Thanks.

You managed to include Unicorns! (but isn't their horns, the alicorn, the thing that purify ? However I had the image of Lucy crouched over a unicorn, drinking its blood! XD)
Anyway, the timelines are nearing each others! Good job with explaining why Sam need purif. rituals against Lucy with Contressa blocking the access!
Loved it!

Yep. And it seems to depend on what you read and so I went with my own thing.
Well, as Dean said in the desert, they had something that stopped Lucifer taking Sam, but it was overcome.

Wow! They're really not even getting chance to breathe between attacks now, huh?

Gotta say I still really love all the reactions they get from the people at the Vatican *grins* it's hilarious when you hold it up against Dean's rather blasé reactions since he's so used to dealing with the Archangels :-D

Oh! And I loved how Dean went to ask Mike and Raph to help with the injured guards only for them to already be pitching in and helping where they could - it just shows how far they've both come, that they don't dismiss the unknown-to-them humans as unimportant, but rather start healing instead of going straight after the information about what happened. Also shows the trust and teamwork going on really well - they trust Dean to do what he can and find out if there's info they need urgently, while they do what he can't but would want done by healing everyone :-D

Can't wait to read more!

Xx
