It had started out innocently enough. They’d been making snowmen, each trying to make their one taller. There’d been boasting and the usual arguments, because neither of them could curb their competitive nature when they were together.
Taichi still couldn’t be sure which of them had made the first move, who’d been the first to visit carnage on the other, but the fact remained that both snowmen were now brutally decapitated, and they’d descended into war, and the snowballs were flying thick and fast.
Taichi had the better aim, although Yamato had an impressively strong throw, which was probably something to do with all that time spent playing a guitar. Yamato also, unfortunately, had taken to hiding behind his beheaded snowman, which was definitely cheating in Taichi’s eyes.
So he’d tackled Yamato to the ground, which definitely wasn’t cheating in his eyes, although Yamato seemed to disagree, and they’d ended up trying to force the other to eat the most snow.
Eventually they rolled to a halt, Yamato sprawled over Taichi’s chest. Both breathing heavily, a damp chill creeping into their clothes, and Taichi was exhausted and cold and his arms were loosely wrapped around Yamato’s waist, and he had no desire to move whatsoever.
