I admit, part of the reason I didn't sign up (besides not having any time XD) is this part ❝As long as you keep your icons PG-13❞. No exceptions? The couple I wanted to claim has a quite a few T&A scenes and I wanted to use them, and/or shoop the two into funny but risqué icons, as well as possibly include a few icons with cuss words on them. (Fuck, ass, and damn were the ones I would probably use.) |D;; And no fanart, but what about doujinshi images? What if it's scans from doujins that I own?

That PG-13 thing is a rule we've been considering changing, since this is an OTP icon challenge - so we're shooting ourselves in the foot by saying no to sexy tiemz. Tbh, the only reason why it was there was because I'm a lazy a sheep, and modeled most of the rules & info on other 20in20 comm's format 8D So yeah, this will be updated, once I have a talk with my co-mods.

And as for the doujin and fanart thing, it seems to be the norm for icontests/challenges to only allow official images - so I think we'll stick with that the crowd on this one. We've seen too much ~dramaz~ come out of people making graphics out of fanart without permission to want to modify this rule. But I know that we're all technically rebellious children for modifying official art without permission in our iconing and such, but that's a discussion for another time XD;

LOL Yay, glad to hear!

Not that it makes a difference now but bishounenawards & bishoujo_awards were pretty big BACK IN THE DAY*~ ;~; and they allowed doujin images so long as contestants informed the mods when they entered their icons? Ok, maybe I am still trying to change your mind even though it's already made up. XP Ah well, I can always Photoshop things together. We are allowed to shoop RL images with animanga images right? And I know it's just animanga + VG claims right now, but maybe in the far off future would American cartoons (not Disney) be allowed? That's pretty close to anime. The one I have in mind is Avatar: The Last Airbender, whose creators intentionally made the art style look similar to anime so..double bonus??

Awww, my face was honestly like this: T___T when I realised bishounenawards & bishoujo_awards shut down. I never participated much in them, but the icons were always so pretty. Though my co-mods and I are pretty adamant to keep the fanart/doujin rules as is, sorry xP

And yes, you are allowed to shop stock/RL images into your icons. So you can continue to abuse Google images as much as you want 8D; Disney and stuff like that is definitely something we are considering - especially if participation level falls XD; But please don't go hoping for that now, sob >.>♥ As for RL shipping icons, that's already taken care of by couples20in20 and shipper20in20.

I just have to ask, but are we allowed to use both manga and anime images, or are we limited to just one or the other?

Just so I'm clear, fanart is allowed as long we personally make it, right? Like, I do spriting and I wanted to use some Cloti ones I made. They're based on official imagery from the old FF's, but they're custom-made by me.

And, one more thing. I claimed Cloud/Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, but can I use Kingdom Hearts screencaps if I need to?

What about cosplay photos you took yourself?

Yes, as long as you made the art or have permission from the artist, feel free to use fanarts. Same goes for the sprites. It's also OK for you to use official KH screencaps, I'll just change your FFVII claim to a more general SquareEnix-verse one :)

My co-mod and I have agreed that we draw the line at cosplay pictures, though. You may still photoshop stock images in your icon - but an icon that constitutes of 100% RL image isn't allowed.

Yay! (Now I don't have an excuse to not finish my Cloud sprites...) And I don't plan to use KH. It was more of a disguised way of asking for Dissidia 012 without being blunt since I already used the images... :P

And the cosplay makes sense, but I thought I'd ask. And are fanarts that are famously known (i.e. Monte Oum's Dead Fantasy or Dion Rogers Rinoa) allowed with credit? The artists are almost impossible to contact, but everyone pretty much knows who made them.

Hi! ^ ^ I'm interested in signing up (maybe next round?), but I was wondering: Are entries to be submitted on the due date according to our own timezone? (i.e. I live in China, so is it 11:59AM in my zone or EST, etc.?)

I've never done a 20in20 before, so I forgive me if I sound sort of ignorant here. XD

Yup we will allow some leniency with the timezone thing, as long as the deadline's still not reached in your country, you can still submit :)

If someone has claimed an entire series, or mangaka etc..., am I still allowed to claim ONE pairing of that series/mangaka?

Yes feel free. For example we had one participant claimed Bleach series this round, but several other claims for specific Bleach pairings as well :D
