A Day At The Zoo

Like I mentioned yesterday, a dream coerced me to go to the zoo. I made it Woodland Park Zoo, which is 5 min from our apartment.

I went alone (husband was working) and parked on the street, so I wouldn't have to pay $4 for parking. (Yes, I am cheap.) I spent the day walking, walking, then walking some more. This is what I like best about zoos - you ( Read more... )

I used to be too afraid to enter the Nocturnal house as a kid. Seriously. :)

I love that zoo... I don't go there as often anymore and I miss it. The gorillas are my absolute favorite.

:-) I wouldn't blame a kid being scared of the nocturnal house. It IS a bit scary. Waaaay too dark.

Ooh, the gorillas are great! I stood there for at least 15 min, staring at them. It's hard not to identify with them! They looked BO-ORED - some were just laying there, making I'm-so-bored-I-wanna-die faces, shifting now and then; one female was looking boredly at her fingers, biting her nails. 2 couples were laying with their arms around each other, sooo cute. :-)

Did you move here from San Diego? I used to live there myself.

I've moved from Orange, but yes, I lived in San Diego for 4 months one time. And since mom-in-law lives there, I returned often.

How do you like SD compared to Seattle?

i've had some downright crazy shit happen to me since moving here. I prefer San Diego. I'm hoping things get better here. They seem to be.

Now I'm curious to what "downright crazy shit" happened to you here! Is it related to Seattle, or it could have happened anywhere?

oh that nocturnal house sounds fun. both of our zoo's well ok denton doesnt have one but Dallas/Ft Worth do and they are too far, too much traffic to get to, the one in Gainsville is cool (free during winter hours!) it's tiny and most of the time you are walking around outside but it's still nice to go too. glad you had fun tho! i love zoo's! did you know that the grey wolf was my fave growing up (yup even above frogs)
