This turned up on the Transhuman Space list about a year ago and people brought up several valid criticisms of it. Unfortunately I can't remember what they were! I suspect the verdict was over-optimistic marketing of a design without a prototype. I think the motor would make a noise. Do those bullet break the sound barrier (I can't be assed doing the maths)?

A year ago...damn. This is far older than I thought.

And yes, there is a crack as they break the sound barrier...but it claims thats its hard to pinpoint the weapon location with that...

It may not have been that long, It was definitely last year though, probably following an initial press release. I see it's now close to release. It'll be interesting to see anyway.
