Thoughts on Les Miserables, the Movie

So I pretty much have to start with I think the musical is flawless, so most of this will be comparison between the musical and film as well as my thoughts on each individual actor. I'm mostly acquainted with the 25th Anniversary in terms of soundtrack I listen to most often, so if you see a lot of comparison's with that in particular, now you know

The movie hasn't started in Russian cinemas yet, but I'm already getting the feeling that watching it without any knowledge of previous musical versions will be a totally different. I've only read the books when I was in middle school:)

"Different" as in not subconsciously comparing it to the stage version at every scene?

(And I have no idea how comment screening got turned on. Well, it's off now.)

Yes, definitely:) Just like stomaching a book-to-movie translation for book fans, comparing one's favourite adaptation to a newer one is definitely LOADED with meta and other layers of feelings and background information.

Oh, and something I always wondering about. Do you know if the movie will be dubbed or just subtitled? Since if it'll be dubbed, then all my stuff about their voices is kind of null and void. Although of the dubbed foreign films I've seen, they usually keep the singing parts in the original language (only Les Mis is all singing)... so yeah.
