So, second of so far two picspams. I might go back and make one for the Doctor's Wife. As it is, I really seem to only want to take the time to make these when I have stuff about the episode I want to talk about ( Read more... )

I love this. Espicially the screencaps of when he finds out who River is.

Also, Matt Smith's kissy face? Priceless. He's all like, "Yeah, I'm totally going to be banging the daughter of my companion soon and she's a Time Lady as well. Did I mention bow ties are cool?"

Rory and River, after reading that I went and re-watched the scene. AMAZING and the one from Day of the Moon where she says to him "Don't let the old man know" and now all I see is subtext between them all.

And the "He Didn't Remember Her" bit, so depressing, but you know it's true. Like a version of Amy if the Doctor never came back.

I had mentioned that line (I thought it was "I hope my old man didn't see it" or some such) and Rory was there in the background, and everyone was like NO SHE MEANS THE DOCTOR.

I'm so happy that this whole season has been all DESCRIBE BIG, AWESOME THING - MUST BE THE DOCTOR. Wait, nope. Totally Rory.

Loving the picspam, thanks for sharing that.

I need to go back and watch the other episodes with the idea that River is Amy and Rory's daughter. Although do we know when in shooting Alex found this out? Because surely it will change how a character is played, even if not explicitly.

This was my favorite scene in the episode

Completely with you on that one. Love the Ponds in general, this scene was all kinds of perfect.

I honestly thought Rory was going to die for real after this

I was sat literally on the edge of my seat watching Rory. And almost made me relieved that it was Ganger!Baby set up rather then Rory dying set up.

It's like an unspoken confirmation for the up-to-date Who fan and then an actual in-your-face explanation for the casual viewer

And in-your-face for the slightly slower up-to-date viewer. Although after it was said I was a little like, DUH, how did I not get that... I blame being wrapped up in the plot... *tries to look believable*

Let's kill Hitler I watched this ep in the Uni cinema, so we're all kind ( ... )

Hi! Awesome picspam!

I guessed River's identity when I found out the baby's name was Melody (because my brain chose to do an instant Melody = Song conversion and I already knew the "Big Reveal" was slated for this ep). But even with that, I do agree that that first scene with River and Rory takes on so much more meaning on second viewing - and it just about kills me. She obviously adores her dad and (again like you) I fear that he will be the good man that she kills and is sent to prison for. It makes dramatic sense, but I so want Rory to have a happy ending (even River sort of got one with her VR-afterlife).

But now I'm going to rewatch some of their scenes together in the "Impossible Astronaut", especially the one about the "far worse day" that River knows is coming. Because if Daddy's girl has to... yeah. *wibble*

Also, I LOVE your theory on how the wedding night conception ties into River being exempt from losing her memories after Big Bang 2. It makes perfect sense of what seemed like a glossed over plot hole. I don't know ( ... )

I'm wondering about whether River remembering has to do with her vanishing or not. I think it has something to do with being a part of the whole 'timey wimey' thing. At least, the Doctor was able to remember Rory after he had supposedly vanished from the timestream even when Amy didn't remember him. I think this was why River remembered the Doctor when he had vanished.

I thought that the Doctor explained that the reason that Amy forgot Rory when he got "cracked" (heh) but not the clerics was because "They weren't part of your timesteam. This is your own history erasing." And especially with what we know now, I would have thought that the Doctor would have been very much a part of River's "own history".

But he never said why he was immune, did he? So I suppose it could be a "Time Lord thing" which River also has. Hmmmm...

I mean, it wasn't in Sexy the TARDIS when he stole and after that he was an outcast. And then what about his mother? Did she save it for him? Would she have been one of those hoarders that saves everything?

IMO, he was telling a half-truth. That was his cradle. But it was also the cradle of his children and grandchildren. Heirloom. Which is why he had it with him. But he didn't want their pity--the pity of new parents, who can now grasp the pain of losing a child--over his dead family and he didn't want to personally confront how much it hurt to see a little baby in that cradle where his children had slept so he only said the part that hurt the least.

I did think that Lorna was Melody or young River. darn red herring. She was intriguing and I already sorta guessed who River was but Lorna just threw me. XD I hope we get to see Lorna again and see when the Doctor meets her. Though, it is more likely that he did forget her which is so so sad because he meant so much to her.

She seemed to play a big part for not much payoff which leads me to believe we'll be seeing her again. Cuz also, Bucket, really? Bucket, water, River, Pond, all this Gamma Forest talk. Hmmm.
