The next stop on our trip across Japan was a little island just 30 minutes East-ish of Hiroshima, ostensibly in the Inland Sea. (pics are here)

I went there this last summer and I loved it. We didn't stay on the island, though. Maybe next time I need to do that!

We saw a racoon dog (spacing on the real name) there, too!

Cool! It was definitely worth it to stay in the traditional inn, although to be honest since it was arranged by the school I've no idea how expensive it actually was. >.>

Is it 'tanuki'? Either way that's so cool, I've never seen a real one :O
