He had hired Chase because he needed someone capable of keeping his patients alive until he could figure out what was wrong with them.
I just love that. So practical, and exactly what everyone would NOT expect to drive House's hiring decisions. Not because it's OOC, but because he does such a great job of convincing everybody he puts little thought into these things.
I definitely agree the non-firing after Vogler is due at least as much to knowledge (however subconscious) of his own guilt in the matter. Though it really IS something he would never say....
3 and 4 are just right. As is 5, although I'd never have thought of phrasing it that way. :)
This was fun! For me, because I didn't have to do the actual work. :) (There's a reason I never offer to do one of these memes myself!) Thanks.
It was fun to write too. *g* In most "things he'll never say" lists, the character gets to gripe about all the things they're usually too polite to admit. The fun thing about House is that he says the obnoxious stuff all the time. It's the nice things that he never admits. I'm glad they all worked for you. :)

And no, your prompt does not have me considering an image of poor Simon with a marble stuffed up his nose. Nope, not at all. ;)
