Yeah, I'm annoyed that the author can just dismiss the notion of romantic attraction to women, too. I don't have a vested interest one way or another, but dismissive attitudes bug me.
He seems to be arguing with a previous Emily Dickinson biographer who argued that Dickinson was 100% a lesbian, and I can see why he gets frustrated with this because there's a lot of evidence that Dickinson was attracted to men... but apparently neither biographer believes that bisexuality is a thing that exists.

Are there two books on Emily Dickenson called My Wars are Laid Away in Books? The one I read was by Alfred Habegger.
