OMG yes, you are in the midst of all that! Whoa! I'm glad you're okay.

Sutcliff by candlelight seems perfect--very sorry about the Yo Yo Ma concert, though.

They might be able to reschedule the concert - we'll see.

Reading by candlelight is pretty awesome. I can totally see how it would ruin the eyes in the long run, but it's so atmospheric.

It's a shame about the concert but it does sound like a really interesting experience - and yes, that would make a wonderful story beginning! I like the idea of costumes that make you time travel when you put them on, that would be really interesting!

Good luck getting power back. :)

I'm worried that the time-traveling costumes might be a little too Magic Attic Club, but at the same time, there's always space for multiple takes on the same thing...

so they herded us into the catacombs beneath the theater, through which we dispersed as more and more people crowded down. AND THEN THE POWER WENT OUT. Utter blackness.

Sounds very dramatic, lol.

It was pretty exciting for the fifty-three milliseconds it took everyone to turn on their phones! And then it was pretty light again.

I want to read this story!! Murder in the bowels of a theatre? Is there an actor wandering around in gore-covered-costume just to mess with people (ie the old faint of heart patrons in the audience)?

I'm not sure! Maybe there was a murder in the old days...maybe that's why the repertory theater closed down in the first place?

ALAS, we arrived at the theater contemporaneously with a tornado warning, so they herded us into the catacombs beneath the theater, through which we dispersed as more and more people crowded down.

That sounds like quite the adventure!

I hope you get your heat and light back soon! And that you get to see Yo Yo Ma at some point. I have wonderful memories of seeing him play with the Silk Road Ensemble. <3

We got the heat and light back on Monday afternoon. Fortunately it was a relatively mild Monday!
