And I forgot to say that I had guessed that pooca was related to the kelpie since they both have some sort of mischievous streak and their horse-like appearances. It's kind of interesting to see how some of these classes of fairies are related to each other.

For this story, I was looking for a different fairy creature that I could still have interact fairly well with the plot so I went to wikipedia and searched it. Came across Pooka, which I remembered from an old book, and my heart was won. Haha!
