Regarding the Attacks in Gotham
Statement to the Press:: Monday June 1, 2009 6:00 PM
This afternoon an explosion rocked a heavily populated entertainment venue in Gotham City. There are strong indications it was a motivated terrorist attack by one or more known rogue superhuman organizations. As such HAMMER is heavily involved in the ongoing investigation. We are coordinating with local authorities and Dr. Karla Sofen aka Ms. Marvel is en route.
There are at least 12 confirmed deaths and the Director's daughter-in-law and granddaughter were among the over fifty injured in the attack. Director Osborn issues the following statement:
These acts of senseless violence only serve to make me more committed to eradicating the evils at large in our country. Gotham has long been a hotbed of corruption and the city has been under my radar since I came into this position -- my family live there, my grandchild was targeted. This is now my first priority.
