IKR! How weird is this, it's so fucking ridic. Glad it made you LOL because I sort of stared at the screen in disbelief when I figured it out. I'm so glad I didn't miss it, because I'd have heard about it after and then I'd have been like WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T I KNOW, IT WAS LIKE A HALF-HOUR AWAY FROM MEEEEEEEEEE.

Is it weird living with people you don't really know? Any language problems when you go shopping? How different is it to when we went to Japan? You sound like you're having a blast! Bring me something... something weird and cool! If you can, LOL!

I guess it is a little weird, but mostly it has to do with how Jakarta (and Indonesia in general) don't really support walking around -- so I'm dependent on them to go anywhere/do anything. They don't seem to mind, but I've been a little nervous about it because for the last week I've been travelling around with my cousin Ade on her business trips and so there's a sort of structure to them. But now that I'm back in Jakarta (well, after the concert tomorrow), I'll just have hours and hours to kill while she's at work...? I dunno exactly. I want to explore but I'm really unused to being so dependent on others to be able to get around. I wish I could drive here, but not only do they drive on the left side (which I think I could get used to), but like I said, the driving is crazy and aggressive and I'm sure I'd kill someone on a motorbike ( ... )

That first paragraph is so all over the place. I also meant to say that the family that I'm staying with all speak varying levels of English, with Ade speaking the most, so it's really easy to communicate with them. And they insist on being the go-between, so I'm not really learning much Bahasa (yet?). When I get a free day (after the concert) I'm going to see if I can dl a language immersion or something and see if I can get some basic stuff down to build on. I know the words for a lot of food now, so I can ask for different things in different types of restaurants and I know what they are. Though some of that is from knowing Indonesian/Malaysian food in NYC. =D

I think it's pretty fantastic (and mostly surreal/unbelievable) that I'm here too! <3333333 OMG it's been forever since I last talked to you! I hope all is well with you, and you should leave your address over in this post so I can send you a postcard from Indonesia!

I MISS SEEING YOU SO MUCH! T_T *HUGS YOU SO HARD*

Oh my god THE FOOD. I just want to eat everything. In fact, that's what people do here. They just eat, and talk about eating, and food, and eat. And then they go somewhere and eat some more. And buy snacks and eat them.

DEFINITELY MY TYPE OF PEOPLE! \o/
