Then I said how I think I've gotten more insane as I've gotten older (yes, Sunday was my 30th) -- but also that I care less about hiding my insanity

I remember being 18 and going off to college and deciding: you know what? fuck it, I'm not going to hide how weird I am anymore.

And I have been much happier since I made that choice.

Well, I don't think I was ever able to really "hide" my weirdness much, but I'm much less concerned about it now. I mean, of course I try to keep fandom-interests separate from work, but among my friends (and that includes close work friends), the fact that I'm obsessive and ridiculous is pretty clearly out of the bag. =D
