run away, run away

I am in a very bad mood. Some of the mood is God's fault, and my father's fault, because they conspired together to make me female, and that means I genuinely wish to kill something four days out of every month, if you catch what I'm throwing. I also love it when people steal my graphics and don't credit me. It makes me grind my teeth with joy. I ( Read more... )

I sincerely hope you get to see CLAMP (please make reports then !) and I agree with what you said about Tsubasa's anime... if it wasn't amazinly animated, it could be a totally crap because the story couldn't be more predictable =_="

Haha, you're right! Someone at the anime production company clearly loves Tomoyo. Or maybe they're just trying to recapture that extremely lucrative Card Captor magic?

And if by some chance CLAMP does come anyplace where I could see them, I will of course make an online report. A very long one ^.^

I would go book a flight, except that I still haven't learned all their names yet.

BUT THEY'RE TELEVISING IT?! GAH! NOOOOOOOOOO! (And xxxHolic is a series now?)

Actually, I'm not really sure how to react to this. So, blessed silence!

I'm deeply scared of Howl's Moving Castle. Yes, I know I read the book because I'm the type of people who like knowing the original first and criticizing every bit of the adaptation later, but when I read it I unwittingly fell in deeply in love with it and am dreading the movie with every fiber of my being (well, not quite, but almost). I suppose that since the DVD's out there's no more excuse for putting it off, is there? *sigh*

Oh, but I started reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel, yay. I like it. I'm not quite to the "HEART!" stage, but I think I'm getting there. Mm-hmm.

We in the longterm fandom usually call CLAMP by their original Japanese names, which are, of course: Assface #1, Assface #2, Assface #3, and Assface #4. I think there are only four of them. One of them is named Mokona. I don't know which one. They seem to like to change it up a bit now and then. There may be five of them, too. Don't ask me questions.

The TRC thing, I keep seeing people post "annoyed" rants about the manga like OH WHO DO THEY THINK THEY'RE KIDDING REHASHING ALL THOSE OLD STORIES?! And. That's the point of the series. You may not like it, but... TRC is completely successful. Strange as that sounds.

Speaking of strange! It took me two or three chapters to fall madly madly madly into mad mad mad mad mad love with Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I can pinpoint the exact place, actually, which was the footnote inclusive of The Raven King, on page [*goes to get the book*] 28. I was gone, after that. I still haven't come back. If it helps, you don't come close to the end of the story until the last few chapters of the novel ( ... )

I know, but, the art, I mean look at it, what did they do to their chins? I'm aware that it's successful, and it doesn't surprise me that it will be televised (well, it does slightly; I assumed they were going to release it OVA), but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yay! But it doesn't matter, because I think I'm in it now. Yes. But what really entertains me is that wherever I bring it (which is everywhere) everyone comments on how big it is, even though the last Harry Potter book that everyone has read (and that I am really starting to resent) is actually longer. Someone even asked me why I was reading it, once. I am deeply concerned for the mental state of modern-day society.

They're enjoyable enough, and as I tend to cling to my childhood loves I will always love Princess Mononoke because it was my first PG-13 movie and I saw it when I was about eight or so. Yes. But Miyazaki is quite the expert at reusing his own plots.

OH HO HO. Very few people actually "like" the TC anime, and among those who do, it's generally assumed that the ability to produce objective judgments has been compromised in some way, probably as a result of long-term exposure to extreme stupidity. So. And for my money, the problem with the anime only begins with the characters' chins... and continues from the fact that someone felt "RESERVoir" was too hard to spell in order to include it in the series title, which is just frightening.

I actually saw the post about Tsubasa CHRoNiCLE being televised on the CW this fall at an anime rumors forum, and it's since been taken down (at least, I couldn't find it again when I went back), so maybe it wasn't true? It certainly wouldn't do much to influence the "anime is a legitimate art form" argument.

Hmmm. I still haven't felt the need to shackle myself to that sixth Harry Potter book. I was a bit over it all -- except the Alan Rickman parts -- in the last book. I'm disappointed in Draco. I want him to be Somebody, instead of just another ( ... )

Hmmm, I just got your e-mail. You can't really turn off usericons in FlexiSquares or it looks teh bizarre, so you have to disable them with CSS. If you do that, though, you can't see who's posting what in the community until you click the comment or cut link. I'll try another override layout in a minute, here.

Haven't watched Howl yet! I just got home last night, and I was too tired to do more than download the raw CLAMP and then read the translation and crash for seventeen hours straight. He's up first tonight, though. I still think he looks like a woman. I thought he was Sophie when I saw the trailer for the first time. Well. Until he did the blood magic.

Speaking of which! Have you heard anything about J.K. Rowling suing to get fanwork taken off the internet? Because. That would make her the tackiest ho in show business. I figured if anyone had heard the truth about this, it'd be you, since you seem to troll the entire internet every day :3

since you seem to repy to lj comments faster than email, i'll post here. smoochies.

the clamp_now layout is sorta now how i want it. you can take a look and see if the fonts and stuff need tweaking. i think i messed up some of the font types. oh well. i got the userpic names to show. gold star for me.

the voice actor for howl is pretty hot. he used to be in a boy band, but they got too old...like they are twenty now or something. he has been in several nice dramas. the only bad thing about him is that he was rumoured to have bad BO. ha haa haa. q-chan (from grad school) told me this. i like almost all of miyazaki's films. the ones i don't like are the ones he's written and given to someone else to direct. i want totoro's babies.

haven't heard that jk rowling rumour recently. i did hear that way back when anne rice wanted her stuff off of fanfiction.net. anyway, snape is safe to be gay and pregnant for the time being.

how was the wedding? let me know about the email i recently sent you. ok?

What wedding? I went to visit my father's family and look at someone's BJD collection.

I hate e-mail.

Um, I just changed the clamp_now layout again. It looked really odd when I peeked at it (no userpics, just usernames in fugly colorblocks?) before I started. I'm in the process of making it green and happy-looking and changing over the original coder's links right now. Unless you want the old one back? I can do that, if you'd like, but you'll have to do userpics, since it's FlexiSquares. Let me know as soon as you see this, ok? I don't wanna spend an hour changing CSS if you don't like this layout and would prefer the other one (if you don't, I'll use it myself, cause I think it rawks).

Mmf. My friend burned a copy of every episode released (at that point, it was around sixteen or so) and let me borrow it and I wasn't sure whether to be horrified or just displeased. I really didn't like how they changed Koryo (Koriyo? Koryou?) with the extra sappy Chun Hyang's mother bits and I didn't understand the extra one with the chick and the cure and stuff. Apparently CLAMP had full creative control. I guess they don't really respect themselves or something.

Hopefully it won't be, because CW has already burned the eyes of enough anime fanzoids.

I have been extremely disappointed in the Malfoys and the Slytherins as a whole since book one. Not because they're mean to poow widdle Hawwy (I don't like him either) but because they are clich, redundant, and flat characters. I am sick of them. (end tangent)

Why did this end up down here...?

oryssein March 19 2006, 17:39:03 UTC
Because LiveJournal hates me and likes to dis my commentary. It does this all the time, randomly. It must be a Slytherin.

Maybe someone should do a Hogwarts House comedy list? Like the Jeff Foxworthy thing? "If you find yourself the red herring at the bottom of every 'mystery' that occurs at Hogwarts... you MIGHT be a Slytherin!" Yeah, what am I talking about? Lots of people have clearly done that already. And then fought over who did it first. IT WAS ME, YOU SLYTHERIN SCUM!!!!!

Sorry about that. I just realized I posted essentially the same thing in the reply to this. I forget how I reply and where sometimes. Whoops.

SO ANYWAY. My ignorant self has no idea what the Jeff Foxworthy thing you speak of is either. Sorry.
