Pub

There is a pub I know called 'The Lochside Bar'.

Not that interesting, I admit, but it is nowhere near any fucking Lochs whatsoever. If you're going to name your pub "The Lochside Bar" it should - at fucking least - be situated beside a fucking loch. As it is, it's on a dirty backstreet adjacent to carpet remnants shop and a car park. Big let

I'd say that seemed like a pretty reasonable expectation on your part.

To be fair, a pub called "The Carpetremnantshopside Bar" would probably go out of business in about a week.

the brit bar in long beach is nowhere near any brits. nor is the mine shaft anywhere near a mine. or the falcon. or the silver fox.

what's in a name, anyway?

Superman should have opened a bar called Kltpzyxm; y'know, just to be on the safe side.

Has the Lochside opened again, then?
It opened as a student-only (as far as I recall) pub sometime in the first term last year. Being 'round the corner from Spring.G, and opposite the College, this sounds like a savvy idea.
Except the college lot don't tend to go to the pub during the day, none of them really lived nearby (and I assume plenty were under-age?), and the S.G crowd barely knew it was there. So it was empty and depressing. But had a stupidly loud stereo, so you couldn't even pop in for a quiet one and a chat.

It closed.

Rob.
