I have the same mixed feelings. Both 1 & 2 were great in their own ways, but I have a hard time seeing the space jockey story flying w/ Hollywood execs w/o humans, and I'd hate to see something good reverse-engineered into something bad. :-/

Sounds like Ridley Scott continues to down the same path as George Lucas and rehashing/revising/revisiting his original visions instead of letting them age and develop in the minds of the audience. He pulled the same shit with Bladerunner, too, although at least he didn't make a sequel.
