4x4 - A song challenge

I've seen postingwhore answer the 30 days song challenge that is coursing through the internet. I liked the idea of telling a bit more about oneself with the help of music, but I couldn't answer many of the questions, so I chose to make up questions of my own. I also don't have the patience to work for weeks on such a challenge, so I'll ( Read more... )

I rather like Jennifer Rostock!

Wir sind Helden are alright, but I prefer Silbermond.

I am also writing a reply to your letter - it should be posted by the end of this week! Sorry for the long delay! :S

Silbermond is not quite my cup'o. Some songs are quite nice, but few of their lyrics genuinely touch me. How come you know them?

I'm looking forward to reading from you! :)

I'm the type who cares more about the tune than the lyrics - I have problems picking out lyrics in general, and well, it matters even less in languages in which I am not fluent or do not know at all XD

And idk, I just tend to grab music from lots of different countries. I was into German pop/rock a while back, so that's how I got to know Wir sind Helden, Silbermond, Christina Stürmer, Jennifer Rostock, etc.

We've got something in common then. ;) I've not paid any attention to lyrics for a long time. But I do it more and more, and I'm the most critical when it comes to German lyrics - (1) because it's a lot harder to ignore lyrics in one's mother tongue, and (2) because German is a language that's not made for certain cheesy lyrics in my opinion. There's a fine line between catchy pop songs and Schlager music, a typical German phenomenon of icky music that would take a while to explain (ask me in your letter should you be interested).

Silbermond simply write too many common I've-heard-it-a-thousand-times love songs for my taste. I can't stand those... *shrug*
