I thought I'd give it a shot. Besides, I can still judge the writing itself, and I'm familiar with Firefly. I also know the basic premise of Dr. Who and I'm assuming there will be some explanation of it all to the Firefly crew, so that should help me as well. Don't doubt my capabilities of understanding, Ms. Whitmore!
