It's a societal thing. For whatever reason, I feel like less of a college student when I'm commuting by car to work. Likely it's a privilege thing -- "I have so much $$ to waste, I can drive to work, and I'm my own boss of when I leave, I don't have to wait around for public transit or be in the cold and need a shower when I get there!"

*shrug* My commute lately has been walking a block, which isn't nearly enough. :)
