I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I can guess, and I'm sorry. I wish I could say something useful.

If you've been part of my life, I owe you something I can never repay. You've honored me greatly, and no matter how small a part you played or how distant the events in question, rest assured that you have touched me, and I remember.

That's how I feel too.

Hmmm. You're the second person whose thoughts have run along that line, and you've inferred something that isn't there. I didn't think expressing affection was that out of charcater, but maybe it is. Probably says something about the society we live in that we're quick to suspect that affection is borne out of adversity.

It was more that you seemed to be saying goodbye to someone in particular. Actually the first time I read the post I *didn't* think that, so I guess I should have stuck with my first impression.
