Despite this being Boston’s second least snowiest year on record, Inna and I had planned a week at a resort between Cancún and Playa del Carmen.

The colors on that building photo are amazing.

Tanks! Part of that is that I retouched the photo on a monitor with low contrast, so my finals wound up being over-saturated, part of it is the coloration from the setting sun, and part of it is that yes the buildings really were painted in brilliant colors. You can see more in another pic, which includes our second floor balcony here.

I wouldn't say that the vacay lost energy after the unfortunate snorking incident. True, I wasn't so much into getting back into the constant waves of the ocean, but I had discovered the nice pool and we still had our routine. Had the resort had the shuttle to Playa del Carmen, I'm sure we would have gone (though spending $50 for a cab seemed kind of silly). Overall yea, the terrible food aside, it was a really nice place - and a nice time. :)
Public service announcement though: kids, wear your sunscreen!
