There must be fifty ways…

Last year at this time, everyone who was anyone was juicing about their taking the 50 Book Challenge, as described in 50bookchallenge.

For myself, I didn’t do any juicing, and I really didn’t care to alter my lifestyle or my reading habits just to meet some arbitrary challenge. But I did decide that it’d be interesting to quietly record what I read for a year, ( Read more... )

That is quite a list... a few interesting bits & bobs, I think I might keep track next year, would be interesting to see what the list comprised of by the end of the year. I might try to put together a rough list for 2006 but would probably forget something.

I didn't do the 50 book challenge, though if it inspired anyone, it's a good thing. I always read a lot anyhow. I did intend to keep track of all the books I read, but I didn't keep that up. I really think I read close to 50 this year, though. I read a lot of pregnancy ones, several about weight loss, a few on fertility, a few new age sort of books, and many sci-fi and fantasy ones. I won't count the 50 or more children's books I read one afternoon in the local bookstore last month though. ;) I would say my breakdown is 30-40% nonfiction and 60-70% fiction. tha'ts more than in the past, though. I don't think Aramis read ONE book this year, though. :(

Cool idea! Turns out my total is 120, all fiction (not that I haven't at least looked at any non-fiction books in 2006, including the 2007 update to the 2004 edition of the book that helped me on my last visit to Las Vegas), but I generally don't read non-fiction). If you're interested, take a look at my LJ entry for details.
