DD started day care last Monday and transitions beautifully, the only thing is that I didn't have much of a milk bank and I'm running out

I'm out of my freezer stash as well. I need to pump this weekend to build some back up.
Things that will affect supply: lack of expressing, lack of sleep/rest, hydration and certain foods.
I'd make sure you're rested and drinking enough. Also pump for another 5 minutes when you'd normally be done. That should cue your body to produce more.
And one thing that works for me: oatmeal. I eat a couple bowls a day when my supply is down and it usually ramps back up within a couple days. Speaking of which I really should go have some (I keep some of the instant oatmeal packets at my desk and microwave some for a snack).
oh and I pump twice at work. I work 8 to 4:30 and pump at 10:30 and 2:30. I lucked out that my laptop wireless works in the mommy room so I actually do work while I'm pumping but my job that's easier to do than your job probably is.
Your schedule for pumping sounds about right...I should do that, it would match with Emily's feedings. She takes a bottle at 09:15, 12:30 and 15:30. I express in the "little confrence room" we don't have mummy rooms in Israel. I just lock the door and I have to sit with my back to the door on a regular chair. I would like to just express at my desk but it makes a noise and i'm afraid someone would walk in or i'd spill some. It's pretty borring for me when I pump. I normally pump till I see not much is coming out.
sleep...well I get 7 hours of sleep most nights...I should really aim for 8...but it's diffecult because I need to get things done once the kids are asleep...dishes/bottle/laundry/ me time. I could be drinking more, but I am drinking...will caffein impact the supply?
Hmm read a book or magazine or something--I find when I do something other than think about pumping I often relax and pump more.
caffeine MIGHT affect the supply. I would think it slightly dehydrates you but it can't do that much--I drink a ton of it myself and you are already getting more sleep than me. I'm only getting around 5-6 hours.
Yeah I was "Lucky" with Emily...she's a very easy baby. [some parents on the 47xxx group say it's because of that] who knows, I think she's as easy going as her daddy.
I agree with Heater about pumping twice a day at work. The more you pump, the more your body knows to produce. I've heard the same thign about oatmeal as well.
I also had trouble keeping up a frozen milk supply with Aidan. I used to pump right before going to sleep when I had to. I didn't like it because I was so exhausted but it helped! It took a while to get any because he fed for a long time before bed. After a while it increased my supply. I did end up supplementing with formula because with Spencer's school schedule I sometimes needed more milk than I had frozen. You really will probably need to pump twice at work to keep your body used to that schedule. I never heard that about the oatmeal but who knows it is worth a try and good for you as well. I just know that when I was not drinking enough water you could really tell. Good luck! Colleen
I guess I could try to drink a little more...I had a granola bar today and I will attempt to express before I go to sleep...even though it's only like an hour after Emily goes to sleep.
