You are kidding! Has this been verified? He gives up a nice ensemble piece with Peter Sarsgaard and Rosamund Pike for a martial arts movie? Blimey. If this is true, there must have been something terribly wrong with the script.

The only place it's been reported is The Daily Mail so i wouldn't exactly call that 'verified'. People who are more familiar with Johnny To's work have said that he's not a kung foo director and if the film is actually a remake of Le Cercle Rouge i think it could be really interesting.
I'd still porefer it if he could do both though.

Thanks as always for clarification. I wasn't trying to cast aspersions on Mr. Ho's work (I am familiar with Le Cercle Rouge and agree it could be a very interesting re-make), I was just very surprised that the other film was expendable. Time will tell I guess!
