Rarely am I so fickle about a show-if I love it at the beginning, I usually love it at the end. If I really dislike the beginning, I rarely make it to the middle. But Torchwood…( God, my opinion has fluctuated so much it’s not even funny. )
I'm really having a hard time with Torchwood myself. A lot like you, I enjoyed it a great deal in the first few episodes, Cyberwoman was hidious, then there were good episodes scattered throughout the rest of the series. I think my favourite has to be End of Days BUT that's only because of the last few minutes. Boy kissing and a very happy yayTardis!Jack was, I think, the best part about the series... that may show where my loyalties lie but what can you do. (Only, like, 6 months until Jack's back in Doctor Who *does a dance*)
I really think I have to give the show a second showing to get an expanded opinion on it however. Maybe I'll see stuff I missed the first time around, or like you, just pretend Owen's not around when I know he's going to do something dumb.

Oooo...definitely. I think the the only reason I kept giving Torchwood a chance was because of Jack's connection with the Doctor. His expression at the end of End of Days was made of awesomeness :).
I enjoyed it a lot more when I watched them as a a marathon--I don't think I would have gotten into it any other way. Ignoring Owen's existence helps, yes. ;)
