From someone who was discharged early, it's a good choice. I have many friends who made the Air Force their career, and you seem to know many yourself. It's worth it, and there really isn't much brainwashing. Just remember it's a commitment. ;)

Thanks for the comments. I wonder if school loans count as debt, b/c that's all I have. Is that 'someone' you or your friend? Yea it's the commitment thing that kind of gets me too, talk about the ultimate contract, but so long as I can maybe move around a bit it'll be fine.

As for the debt, you would have to check with a recruiter. My friend freaked out when President Obama "decided" to send troops to Afghanistan. This after I told her it was going to happen...some people are just blind, I guess.
That "someone" would be me. I was in delayed enlistment for a long time right out of high school, and received a medical discharge. :/
My friend is in the Reserves, and has to deal with new recruits who never take the commitment part of being in the military seriously. You can't go in thinking you're doing anything other than defending out country. You're a smart girl, though, and I think you will do well if you choose to go AF. :)
