Entry #A-20: "Anthropocentricities"

Aug 30, 2009 15:56

This question is directed toward the alchemists in Adstringendum in particular, but the message has been left public on the off-chance that someone else would be willing to assist with a particular undertaking of mine.

I'm looking to obtain a supply of natural gas, butane, propane, liquefied petroleum, or any other type of flammable gas.

tinkering with the stove, make me some gas, alchemists, l lawliet, dangerous?, gas stove, friendly request, wants to help, taking kenta's request seriously

What?

No... I'm repairing a gas stove.

Would you have helped, if I had intended to use it for an explosion or an intoxication?

Why? Those ingredients are very hard to come by out here.

I'm trying to fix a gas-powered stove. I think I can get a suitable canister, but I can't make the flammable gas myself.

You'd use up the gas rather quickly, though, and if we had that, we'd need it for other things.

That's why I'm asking for alchemists and superpowers. Those exist here, right? Gas is matter as well as liquids and solids, and I'd be willing to barter for the service.

If the gas ends up being a no go, Ki'nam and I have been talking about fashioning a stove and heated bath inspired from the Romans, and we might be able to figure something out like that for the stove too?

The oven beneath it's useless in any case, we might be able to fit something up in that space.

You mean aqueducts? It's possible... though it's much simpler, since it's already a gas stove and we just need to figure out how to power it. I'm thinking pilot light, personally.

We could also fix the oven... it wouldn't be so difficult, would it?

Would it? I confess to not knowing much about ovens.

It's a pretty simple concept. I don't think ours was gas powered, but we'll work something out, with or without electricity.

Fire?
What are you planning to do, Ryuzaki?

Rue.

I'm planning a calamity of catastrophic proportions. Make sure you're within ten miles of the detonation site, or risk permanent maiming. Oh, wait...

If you'd come from the point in time I had, you'd already have that covered. Sorry to bring it up.

We used to have a working one at the Clinic, but the supply is exhausted.
